VMR Brisbane provides a `first response' emergency service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and our base is strategically located at Shorncliffe, adjacent to Brisbane Airport and the Port of Brisbane. A very high priority is placed on all aspects of training, including; marine operations, first aid, marine radio, bar crossing, and emergency search and rescue procedures.

Volunteer Duty Crews maintain a vessel monitoring service every weekend and public holiday from 0600 to 1700 hrs.

The radio channels we man are:

VHF Radio - 63, 67, 73, 81, 21 (Emergency Channel 16)

27 Mhz Radio - 91 (Emergency Channel 88)

After hours calls are attended to by our Emergency Standby Crew. We assist Brisbane Water Police with Search and Rescue and assist Brisbane Ambulance crews with Medivacs.
